Vid ("to know") is the root for Vidya (Knowledge) that is in the Hindu text Veda. That ultimate Vidya is to KNOW THE SELF, that is Brahma Vidya. Brahmvidya is the spiritual knowledge of divine faith/God/existence/mantra/absolute/Truth itself. In the Puranas, this is divided into two branches, the first one dealing with the Vedic mantras and is called para vidya or former knowledge, and the latter dealing with the study of the Upanishads and is called the apara vidya or latter knowledge. Both para and apara vidya constitute brahma vidya.

Brahman is the absolute Reality, pure Consciousness. According to ADVAITA VEDANTA philosophy, Brahman is the Absolute non-dual Reality, and Its essential nature is existence, consciousness, and bliss. There is a perfect identity between the Self and Brahman; the difference or duality between Brahman and the Self is mere illusion.

These days, Brahmavidya is seen as the spiritual path for seekers of ultimate reality, explaining as Science of Knowledge of Sciences / Absolute / Senses / Root of all / Kshethra (universe) / Kshethrajna (Th Learner/enjoyer). Brahma, only imperishable in this entire universe. For the imperishable to exist, a perishable object is to be associated together; that imperishable that we associate with all that we are interacting with each of us, the I; is the Brahma. That I which as explained in Mundakopanishad says – Brahma vidya is the Sarva Vidyam Pratishtam, the foundation of all kinds of Knowledge. The Indriyas is the base of knowledge is from these senses’ organs of perception and the thought, imagination, the inner sense – are all managed by the Brahma. Learning and gaining this in all that we do is called BrahmaVidya.

Infinity of things around this world is reduced into 5 senses and then the sense that preserves as Impression; thus, the world is only an impression. That impress in us is understood by the Brahma in the center of the heart-cave Brahman alone shines in the form of the Self with immediacy as 'I-I'. Brahmavidya Upanishad is one of twenty Yoga Upanishads in the four Vedas. The Brahmavidya Upanishad has 110 verses. The key issues dealt with in the scripture are Brahmavidya– the knowledge of Brahman, the character of Brahman, the Om symbol and an individual’s nature of self-consciousness, human attachments and freedom therefrom.[ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brahmavidya_Upanishad]

As it says Bhagavad Gita is the essence of Upanishads, Brahma Vidya and Yoga Sasthra, having read through Brahma Vidya now next week we shall reflect Yoga sasthra.
